Responsible Investment
Our Stand Point
We, Nissay Asset Management Corporation, as an asset management specialist, realize that we have a social responsibility toward creating a sustainable society, enhancing our corporate value and contributing to developing a healthy capital market. We believe that moving towards realizing these steps will lead to the improvement of long term investment income and will also pave the way to earning the trust of our customers.
To fulfill our social obligation as 'Responsible Investors', we signed the United Nations-backed 'Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative' (PRI) in 2006. Since then, we have actively engaged in talks with our portfolio companies, including the active use of our voting rights. We also applied the Japan Stewardship Code in May 2014 and we have publicly announced our views and efforts concerned with each principle.
NAM made long-term earnings projection and dialogue with companies into main frame upon the introduction of “SVS” in 2004.
In 2006, we signed the United Nations-backed ‘Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative’ (PRI) and we have clearly stated our policy to consider ESG (E: Environment, S: Society, G: Governance) in our investment process.
Our Sustainability Report introduces our sustainability initiatives, ESG management, and stewardship activities.
We consider the exercise of proxy voting rights as one form of "dialogue with companies" to fulfil our stewardship responsibilities.
